Intimate Backyard Wedding in Oak Park

Ian grew up in Oak Park and their wedding took place in the backyard of his childhood home. His parents will be selling it soon and this was the last big celebration before moving. They got ready upstairs in different bedrooms and stepped over the train set sprawled out on the living room floor to greet each other for an extremely casual first look. So casual that I nearly missed snapping a photo of it happening.

We went walking around Oak Park and they chose a few of their “dream houses” to stand in front of for a few portraits. We headed home for the backyard ceremony and after several rounds of downpour-sun-downpour-sun-downpour-sun, they got married surrounded by their families and soak wet nieces and nephew.
